Description

The Directorate General of Research and Development, through the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM), has established the results of the 2026 Higher Education Institution Clustering, based on research and community service performance for the 2022–2024 period as recorded in SINTA.

The 2026 Higher Education Institution Clustering is based on processed performance data of higher education institutions sourced from SINTA for the 2022–2024 period. The performance data considered consist of information that has been verified and validated by verifiers from each institution’s Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM), covering the following components: authors, affiliations, articles, research, community service, intellectual property rights, and books.

This clustering is not a ranking system; instead, it serves as a mechanism to group institutions according to their performance levels. The clustering results are used as the basis for formulating the national research roadmap and strategic plans in the fields of research and community service. Through this process, institutional performance can be objectively identified, measured, and categorized. Consequently, the clustering is expected to enhance the quality of research and community service through cross-cluster collaboration, enabling inter-institutional synergy and strengthening the contribution of higher education to sustainable national development.
