Berastagi, Universitas Sumatera Utara Community Service Institute is holding a 2024 work program meeting, which will be held on 15-16 December 2023 at the Mikie Holiday Resort & Hotel Berastagi.
This activity was carried out with the aim of preparing better implementation of the work program, which is based on an evaluation of the implementation of the work program in 2023. This meeting was attended by the Chair of USU's LPPM, Prof. Dr. Tulus Vor.Dipl.Math., M.Sc., Ph.D together with USU LPPM Secretary Dr. Meutia Nauly, S.Psi., M.Si., Psychologist and Education Staff at USU LPPM. Also, during this activity, LPPM USU also invited guests to get input on the work program that would be implemented, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Abdul Rauf MP and Prof. Dr. Rudy Sofyan, SS., M. Hum.
This work program meeting was opened by the Chair of USU LPPM Prof. Dr. Tulus Vor.Dipl.Math., M.Sc., Ph.D, who conveyed the purpose of carrying out this activity was to be able to obtain input from other parties, in this case Prof. Dr. Ir. Abdul Rauf MP related to survey results and analysis of flash flood events in Kab. Humbang Hasundutan. This information is needed by LPPM USU to be able to adjust the work program that will be implemented in 2024 in handling areas affected by flash floods.
Also, Prof. Dr. Rudy Sofyan, SS., M.Hum to be able to obtain information and input regarding the implementation of Joint International KKN activities with PTN-BKS Western Region which will be implemented in 2024. This information is needed by the USU LPPM as initial preparation to be able to implement this program well later .
Based on the activities that have been carried out, Prof. Dr. Ir. Abdul Rauf MP has conveyed the results of survey activities that have been carried out in the areas affected by the flash floods and based on the results of the survey, action is needed related to handling the affected areas, as well as the need for a wider study regarding the potential for natural disasters to occur again. around the Lake Toba area.
Regarding the implementation of the joint International KKN program, one of the inputs given by Prof. Dr. Rudy Sofyan, SS., M.Hum is a refinement of the previously existing KKN information system. And, it is hoped that this information system can be further developed and integrated with Universitas Sumatera Utara's academic information system (SIA).
