This was reaffirmed by the Head of the USU International Affairs Office (KUI), Rudy Sofyan in an audience received directly by the Samosir Regent at the Samosir Regent's Office.
mentioned Prof. Rudy, Universitas Sumatera Utara, through the USU community service institution, has received a mandate from the Western Regional Higher Education Cooperation Agency (BKS PTN-West) to implement joint international KKN, so the party chose Samosir as the main locus. "In addition to being attended by PTN in the western region, it will also bring in foreign students who are planned to be placed in 8 villages in Samosir and 2 locations in Karo with a total of ± 100 student representatives from each university," said the Head of USU's International Affairs Office (KUI). , Rudy Sofyan. KKN is planned to be implemented from August to September 2024. "We still hope for good coordination with the Samosir Regency Government regarding student placement so that it meets the needs of the government and society," continued Prof. Rudy.
He added that the implementation of this Joint International KKN is important where students will campaign according to the knowledge they have gained. The findings (certain cases) during KKN will be included in research funded by USU so that it will help the Regional Government/community in village development. Before the KKN student withdrawal event, students will hold a presentation so that it becomes USU's summary in future research. On behalf of the District Government. Samosir Vandiko expressed his gratitude to USU for following up on human resource development as agreed in the MoU some time ago. "Thank you for choosing Samosir Regency as the main locus. We welcome this activity and are ready to coordinate," said Vandiko.
In this program, Vandiko hopes that both parties will benefit equally, both students and the Samosir Regency Government/community will gain applied knowledge. For this reason, he requested that the basics of KKN students be adjusted to the needs of the village so that they can maximize their potential and existing resources in accordance with the village plan.
"In placing KKN students, it is necessary to coordinate with the Regional Government so that the choice of location can be arranged and the presence of students really has a good impact on the community," concluded Vandiko.
