Implementation of the Signing of the Second Phase of the DRTPM Community Service Contract
Jakarta, The Community Service Institute of Universitas Sumatera Utara attended the signing of the Second Phase of Community Service Implementation Contract which was carried out on August 1, 2024 by the Directorate of Research, Technology and Community Service (DRTPM).
In this Second Phase of Community Service activities, the Community Service Institute of Universitas Sumatera Utara received 3 (three) Community Service activity titles that received funding from the Directorate of Research, Technology and Community Service (DRTPM). And, based on this addition in 2024, the Community Service Institute of Universitas Sumatera Utara received a total of 19 (nineteen) Community Service activities with funding sources from DRTPM.
This activity was opened directly by the Director of Research, Technology, and Community Service (DRTPM) M. Faiz Syuaib delivering a speech and presentation regarding the DRTPM policy. Regarding community service, Faiz Syuaib explained that funding for community service this year has increased drastically. In this wave, there is also an affirmation for the community service scheme, including regional-based affirmation, affirmation for certain state universities, and affirmation for disaster-prone or disaster-affected areas. In addition to the one-year funding scheme, funding for community service is also possible with a multi-year funding scheme, especially for community service programs with empowerment schemes based on entrepreneurship and regions, including Empowerment of Regional Superior Product Business Partners (PM-UPUD), Empowerment of Fostered Villages (PDB), and Regional Empowerment (PW). In this multi-year funding scheme, 19 proposals passed funding out of 82 proposals received.
For community service funding under the one-year funding scheme, there were 1,205 proposals that passed DRTPM funding out of 1,925 proposals submitted. Community service funding under the one-year funding scheme is intended for the implementation of community-based empowerment schemes with the scope of Beginner Community Empowerment (PMP), Community Partnership Empowerment (PKM), and Community Empowerment by Students (PMM).
"There are a total of 416 regencies/cities out of 541 regencies/cities in Indonesia that are the locations for implementing community service programs this year. This number does not include the locations for implementing the Kosabangga program which is currently in the process of being proposed. With a total location of around 80% of the number of regencies/cities in Indonesia, it is hoped that the presence of higher education institutions can be felt by the community," said Faiz.
