Community Service Program (KKN-PPM) 2022 at USU Begins with Student Orientation

The 2022 KKN Student Orientation was online on Friday, March 11, 2022.
The event was held virtually following a circular letter regarding in-person meetings, which are still not feasible at USU. However, the KKN team personally participated in the activity at the LPPM USU Meeting Room.
Prof. Tulus, Vor.Dipl.Math., M.Si., Ph.D. the Head of LPPM USU officially opened the orientation. In his remarks, Prof. Tulus expressed his hope that implementing KKN would benefit the community while ensuring adherence to health protocols during its execution.
This year's KKN will take place in Langkat Regency, covering 11 villages designated in collaboration with stakeholders in Langkat Regency. One hundred ninety-one students participating in the KKN-PPM were provided practical insights to prepare them for their field activities. The orientation aimed to equip students with foundational knowledge to assist them during the program.
Several speakers presented materials that would serve as essential guidance for students: Destanul Aulia, SKM, MBA, MEc, Ph.D: Delivered a presentation titled "Potential of KKN-PPM in Langkat Regency 2022," providing an overview of Langkat Regency's geographic and demographic conditions.
drg. Ranu Putra A., M.Kes: Discussed "COVID-19 Health Protocols for the Implementation of KKN-PPM USU 2022," emphasizing the importance of adhering to health protocols given the ongoing pandemic.
Dr. Zulfan Lubis, S.S., M.Hum: Presented on "Village Government Management," explaining the local characteristics and village dynamics to enable students to engage effectively at the village level while respecting local cultures.
Tulus Joseph Herianto, S.Si, M.Si: Shared insights on "Digital Literacy," stressing the importance of digital skills in broadening the impact of students' community service initiatives.
Ismayadi, S.Kep, Ns., M.Kes: The KKN-PPM USU Coordinator for 2022 outlined the "Technical Implementation of KKN-PPM 2022," covering regulations, requirements, and mechanisms for the program.
The 2022 KKN-PPM in Langkat represents an accelerated initiative organized since early 2022. The program will officially commence on March 21, 2022, with the Rector inaugurating and dispatching the students.
