This training and mentoring activity was carried out with the aim of increasing achievements and the realization of the number of Community Service activities that received funding from the Directorate of Research, Technology and Community Service (DRTPM)
Medan, Universitas Sumatera Utara Community Service Institute carries out Training and Mentoring activities for Teaching Staff/Lecturers at Universitas Sumatera Utara in Preparing Proposals for Community Service activities which will be submitted to the Directorate of Research, Technology and Community Service (DRTPM), Directorate General of Education Higher Education, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology for FY 2024.
This training and mentoring activity is carried out with the aim of further improving the quality of proposals that will be submitted by teaching staff/lecturers at Universitas Sumatera Utara in the future. It is hoped that this training and mentoring activity will reduce the number of proposals that fail at the Administrative Selection stage by DRTPM. Where, based on the results of the proposal review in 2023, 68% of the proposals approved by LPPM USU to be forwarded to DRTPM for further review failed at the administration stage. So, it is hoped that this Training and Mentoring activity will be able to reduce the number of Proposals that fail at the administration stage.
This activity was opened by Prof. Dr. Rudy Sofyan SS., M.Hum Head of the International Affairs Office (KUI), who on this occasion represented the Deputy Chancellor for Research, Community Service and Cooperation who was unable to attend. This activity involved resource persons who are also part of the Expert Team for Preparing the DRTPM Research and Community Service Combination and are also National Reviewers for the Community Service Program, namely Prof. Dr. Okid Parama Astirin, MS. On this occasion, the resource person conveyed the provisions and requirements that the proposer must pay attention to, and emphasized that the proposer should be able to study the Guidebook well, so that they can avoid mistakes that could result in failure in the administration process.
This training and mentoring began with the implementation of training activities which were held on Wednesday 6 March 2024 which took place at Le Polonia Hotel & Convention, Jl. Jenderal Sudirman No.14-18, Upper Madras, District. Medan Polonia, Medan, 20152. This activity began with remarks from the chairman of USU LPPM Prof. Dr. Tulus Vor.Dipl.Math., M.Si., Ph.D, who in his speech conveyed the results of the review of proposals in the previous year, with the hope that this could be an evaluation of the proposal submissions in 2024.
Pada kegiatan ini dilanjutkan dengan tahapan coaching penyusunan proposal yang dipandu oleh Reviewer Nasional Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang berasal dari Internal Universitas Sumatera Utara, yaitu Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si. dan Prof. Muhammad Basyuni, S.Hut., M.Si., Ph.D. Pada kesempatan ini peserta yang terlibat pada kegiatan Pelatihan dapat berdusksi secara langsung dengan Narasumber, yang disesuaikan dengan pembagian oleh Panita acara yang dalam hal ini adalah LPPM USU. Sehingga, diharapkan pengusul nantinya dapat mengajukan usulan yang telah seseuai dengan panduan dan tempalte yang telah disiapkan oleh DRTPM selaku penyelenggara kegiatan.
This activity will not only be completed at this activity, but will continue with the Mentoring stage until the end of the Proposal submission period on March 26 2024. Proposers will be able to communicate with resource persons involved in the activity for consultation and discussion if there are problems or obstacles. in preparing Community Service Proposals. Also, proposers can also contact staff at USU's LPPM who have been assigned to handle matters related to Community Service.
Based on the efforts that have been carried out, it is hoped that this will be a driving force in increasing the achievements and gains of the Community Service Program which is implemented with funding from the Directorate of Research, Technology and Community Service (DRTPM) in 2024.
