Medan – The Community Service Institute of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled Times Higher Education and Collaborative Research. The objective of this activity was to enhance the implementation of collaborative community service programs, which are expected to support the university's ranking in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.

The event was held on May 31, 2024, in the Meeting Room of LPPM USU. Deputy Dean III from various USU faculties and the Village Development Program heads under the Community Service Institute attended. The session was officially opened by the Chairperson of LPPM USU, Prof. Tulus Vor. Dipl. Math., M.Si., Ph.D., thanked the attendees for their time and encouraged them to disseminate the insights gained from the discussion to their respective work environments.

The resource person for this event, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Kamal Ariffin from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), shared his experiences fulfilling his duties and responsibilities in higher education institutions, both as an academic and administrative official. He highlighted the importance of supporting the university's priority programs, particularly those related to improving its ranking in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.
