Impactful Student Program: Community Empowerment for Post-Disaster Recovery in Sumatra 2026 This program represents a tangible manifestation of students’ roles as agents of change in strengthening social resilience, supporting post-disaster recovery, and empowering communities through collaboration, innovation, and concrete actions in the field.

Medan — The Institute for Community Service of Universitas Sumatera Utara participated in the proposal submission for the Impactful Student Program: Community Empowerment for Post-Disaster Recovery in Sumatra 2026 by submitting eleven (11) proposals, all of which received approval from the Head of the Institute for Community Service of Universitas Sumatera Utara.

 

Furthermore, based on the official announcement letter issued by the Director of the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), funding was awarded to four (4) proposals under the Impactful Student Program: Community Empowerment for Post-Disaster Recovery in Sumatra 2026, as detailed below:

  1. Dr. Muhammad Taufik, S.Si., M.Si.
    Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences
    Title: Post-Flood Fish Pond Water Quality Recovery through the Implementation of an IoT-Based Smart Water System under the Impactful Student Program

  2. Dr. Rika Endah Nurhidayah, S.Kp., M.Pd.
    Faculty of Nursing
    Title: Optimizing the Impactful Student Program for Community Livelihood Reconstruction Following Flood Disasters

  3. Prof. Dr. Ir. Hamidah Harahap, M.Sc.
    Faculty of Engineering
    Title: Community Empowerment in Post-Disaster Recovery in Lubuk Sidup Village, Sekerak Subdistrict, Aceh Tamiang Regency

  4. Dr. Drs. Fikarwin M., Anthropology
    Faculty of Social and Political Sciences
    Title: Crafting Institutions for Post-Disaster Social Infrastructure Recovery: The Impactful Student Program in Aek Ngadol Nauli Village, Batang Toru Subdistrict, South Tapanuli Regency

The Institute for Community Service of Universitas Sumatera Utara extends its congratulations to all funding recipients under the Impactful Student Program: Community Empowerment for Post-Disaster Recovery in Sumatra 2026 and encourages them to implement the program activities in accordance with the targets and performance indicators established by the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM), Kemdiktisaintek.
