MEDAN-The Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has officially sent a delegation to attend the XII National Community Service Lecture (KKNK) at Universitas Pattimura, Ambon, Maluku.
This KKNK will take place from July 25 to August 24 with the theme "Strengthening National Values in Realizing Independent Villages in the Archipelago".
The delegates representing USU are Kirana Aulia Rahma and Suranti Pratiwi, Agrotechnology students from the Faculty of Agriculture. The delegation selection process involved a strict selection process starting from filing to interviews. The students have received the necessary training to be ready to serve and help solve real problems in society.
"Of course I feel very grateful because I have been given the opportunity to be able to carry out one of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely serving the community to the remote areas of the country. This is a challenge for me because I am directly involved in the community. Although it is quite exciting, I am ready to serve the community, especially in the agricultural sector," said Kirana on Tuesday (24/7) yesterday.
The delegation was also released by Mr. Ikhsan Siregar ST., M.Eng., Director of Education Development at Universitas Sumatera Utara on Wednesday (24/7). On that occasion, he gave advice and support to the National KKN participants so that they could mingle and serve the community according to their scientific fields. He also said that this National KKN is a forum for students to learn and build broad relationships with students from various universities throughout the country.
The head of the KKN coordinator, Dr. Rusdi Noor Rosa, S.S., M.Hum hopes that the USU delegation can make a significant contribution through the work program that has been prepared.
"As the Head of the PPM KKN at Universitas Sumatera Utara, I hope that the students who are sent to participate in the National KKN activities in Maluku can become agents of change, not just followers in the activity. They must be able to bring the good name of Universitas Sumatera Utara to the national stage through this activity by providing constructive ideas during the implementation of the National KKN later," he said.
Meanwhile, the National KKN Coordinator, Destanul Aulia, SKM. MBA. MEc. PhD in a separate place said that previously his party had conducted a visitation on June 26-29, 2024.
