In Medan, the Community Service Institution of Universitas Sumatera Utara held a Proposal Writing Training for Community Service Programs funded by the Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service (DRTPM) for FY 2025. This event occurred on December 10, 2024, at the Digital Learning Center Building (DLCB) Auditorium, 8th Floor, Universitas Sumatera Utara Campus.
This activity was carried out to increase the number of community service proposals submitted to DRTPM for funding. A higher number of proposals submitted is expected to lead to a higher number of successfully funded proposals. This aligns with one of the university's work program targets related to obtaining external funding.
The event began with remarks from the Head of LPPM USU, Prof. Tulus, Vor.Dipl.Math., M.Si., Ph.D., was officially opened by the Vice-Rector III of USU, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt. The event was also attended by the Secretary of LPPM USU, Dr. Meutia Nauly, S.Psi., M.Si., Psychologist.
The keynote speaker for this training was Prof. Dr. Elisa Julianti, M.Si., a National Reviewer in Community Service under DRTPM. During the session, the speaker explained the process of submitting community service proposals and highlighted important aspects that applicants need to consider to avoid administrative errors that might result in immediate rejection at the early stages of review.
In addition, the Community Service Institution invited Dr. T. Henny Febriana Harumy, S.Kom., M.Kom., to share her experiences in implementing DRTPM community service programs, particularly her success in obtaining multi-year funding schemes.
Vindy Rilani Manurung, S.Pi., M.P., also shared her experiences executing DRTPM single-year community service programs, which she successfully obtained for three consecutive years.
This activity aims to motivate lecturers at Universitas Sumatera Utara to submit community service proposals to DRTPM. By doing so, they will contribute to the university's work program achievements and support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in community service.
