Summary of Community Service Activities Funded by USU Talenta Grants in 2022

The recipients of the 2022 USU Talenta Community Service grants have been announced. Out of the 432 proposals submitted through the simabdimas.usu.ac.id portal, 233 were funded.

 

The "Mono-Year" scheme received the largest allocation of funds, amounting to IDR 3 billion, while the "Disaster Mitigation" scheme had the lowest allocation at IDR 336.5 million.

In 2022, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) submitted the highest number of proposals (57), followed by the Postgraduate School (11 proposals) and the Faculties of Psychology, Computer Science, and Dentistry (12 proposals each). The Faculty of Agriculture achieved the highest number of approved proposals (30), followed by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) with 28 and FISIP with 21. The Faculties of Dentistry and Psychology recorded the highest success rate (91.7%) regarding proposals approved compared to submissions.

 

 

 

The Faculty of Agriculture secured the highest funding allocation of IDR 843 million, followed by FMIPA and FISIP. Meanwhile, the Postgraduate School received IDR 71 million, and the Faculty of Computer Science received IDR 114 million.

 

 

For 2022, community service activities were directed toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). LPPM's review of approved proposals revealed that most community service projects supported SDG Goal 3 (Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages) at 29.61%. This was followed by Goal 8 (Promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all) at 20.6%, and Goal 4 (Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all) at 15.2%. No community service projects specifically addressed Goal 10 (Reducing inequality within and among countries).

 

 

Regarding project locations, 63.9% of community service activities were carried out in districts or municipalities within North Sumatra, 33.9% in Medan City, and the remainder at the international level.
