On February 20, 2022, the Ministry of Education and Culture officially closed the proposal submission for funding under the Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service (DRTPM) for the 2022 cycle.

After several extensions via the website simlitabmas.kemdikbud.go.id, the portal has officially been closed for new title submissions by lecturers.

Through the Institute for Community Service (LPPM USU), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) consistently monitored the submission process while assisting with technical issues encountered during the submission period. The final review by the LPPM USU operator team showed that a total of 124 proposal titles were submitted by USU lecturers for 2022. This number marks a fourfold increase compared to the previous year, where only 29 proposals were submitted. This achievement is attributed to the collaborative efforts of LPPM USU and internal reviewers who actively provided both online and offline guidance during February 4–8, 2022. Informally, reviewers and the LPPM team also assisted lecturers facing challenges during submission.

Based on the data collected, most submissions came from the Faculty of Agriculture at USU, with 18 lecturers submitting proposals. The following chart presents an overview of this data.

Furthermore, regarding focus areas, health emerged as the most popular field among USU lecturers, with 31% concentrating on solving health-related issues. This data is summarized in the chart below.

Universitas Sumatera Utara has made significant efforts to contribute to solving community problems through DRTPM funding proposals for 2022. The academic community hopes for a significant increase in approved proposals, enabling USU to contribute more progressively to addressing societal challenges.
