USU Secretary Officially Sends Off Langkat KKN Students for 2022

The Community Service Program (KKN) in Langkat was initiated earlier than in previous years. The planning for this activity began on January 12, 2022, and the outcomes of the meetings were implemented in the KKN-PPM 2022 program, which officially commenced on March 21, 2022.
The send-off ceremony was officiated by the Secretary of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked (OG), Sp. In the morning, OG (K)-Fer is in front of the USU Rectorate Building. “KKN is conducted directly within the community; therefore, students must adhere to health protocols. Even though we are currently negative, COVID-19 can spread from anywhere, so maintaining good health is essential,” emphasized the USU Secretary in his speech. The event was also attended by the Secretary of LPPM USU, Meuthia Nauly, S.Psi., M.Si. (Psychologist), the Head of USU Public Relations, Amalia Meutia, M.Psi. (Psychologist), and field supervisor lecturers.
The KKN activities will be directly monitored by field supervisor lecturers, who serve as student mentors. LPPM USU has appointed the following lecturers as Field Supervisors (DPL) specifically for Langkat Regency:

The KKN-PPM program is planned to be developed as one of the student activities that support the achievement of the university’s Key Performance Indicators (IKU), particularly IKU-2: Students Gaining Experience Outside the Campus. This KKN-PPM program will last 35 days, and its implementation will be converted into three credit hours for students.
A total of 191 students are participating in the KKN program, divided into 11 groups, and assigned to several villages in Langkat Regency, including:

Bukit Lawang Plantation Village, Pekan Bahorok Subdistrict, Bahorok District, Langkat Regency.
Sampe Raya Village, Pekan Bahorok Subdistrict, Bahorok District, Langkat Regency.
Bekiun Village, Pekan Kuala Subdistrict, Kuala District, Langkat Regency.
Pasar IV Namu Terasi Village, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency.
Namu Ukur Utara Village, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency.

The students participating in the Langkat KKN have been previously prepared by the KKN Langkat team in the week prior, ensuring that they are fully equipped to undertake this program as part of the MBKM (Independent Learning and Independent Campus) initiative at Universitas Sumatera Utara. The planning for the Langkat KKN began in January 2022, with the program coordinated by Ismayadi, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., who has prior experience managing KKN activities under LPPM USU.
