One of USU's policies in 2021 to support the Food Estate initiative was implemented through Community Service (PkM) activities.

IIn line with the implementation of the Penta-Helix partnership model, which fosters collaboration among academics, government, and industry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has outlined its active role in supporting the Food Estate in Humbang Hasundutan Regency, North Sumatra Province.

One of USU's 2021 policies supporting the Food Estate was realized through Community Service (PkM) programs. The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) followed this policy by allocating one of its PkM programs to the "Compulsory Faculty Community Service Scheme."
