Medan, the Institute for Community Service at Universitas Sumatera Utara carried out a working visit to the Institute for Research and Community Service at Universitas Terbuka on 10 - 12 January 2023.

This visit was carried out in the context of implementing Collaborative Community Service activities together with partner universities, in this case Universitas Terbuka is one of the target partners in implementing this Collaborative Service activity.
The implementation of this visit was led by the Chair of USU LPPM Prof. Drs. Tulus, Vor.Dipl.Math., M.Si., Ph.d together with Staff from LPPM USU. And, from the Universitas Terbuka Research and Service Institute, this visit was received by Prof. Dra. Dewi Artati Padmo, M.A., Ph.D as Chair of LPPM UT, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Imam Farisi, M.Pd as Secretary of LPPM UT along with the staff at LPPM UT.

This activity began with remarks from Prof. Dra. Dewi Artati Padmo, M.A., Ph.D as Chair of LPPM UT delivered a welcoming speech and greetings to the Team from LPPM USU. Also, this activity was continued with a presentation and explanation of the aims and objectives of the visit from LPPM USU to LPPM UT.
On this occasion, Prof. Tulus as Chair of LPPM USU said that the aim and purpose of this visit was related to the Collaborative Community Service Program implemented by LPPM USU, and on this occasion he intended to offer LPPM UT to be a partner in implementing these service activities. On this occasion it was also announced that this Collaborative Service activity will be implemented in 2023 with several partner universities such as: Universitas Andalas, Universitas Riau, Universitas Sriwijaya, Universitas Syiah Kuala, and Universitas Samudra.

Based on the implementation of this working visit, LPPM USU and LPPM UT agreed to carry out this Collaborative Service activity targeting target partners from LPPM UT or regional UT campuses in Banjarmasin. Based on information provided by partners, the target is the location of a former coal mine.

As a follow-up to this visit, it is planned to hold a follow-up meeting which will involve representatives from the UT Campus in Banjarmasin together with representatives from target partners. Also, at this meeting the plan will also involve lecturers who will later be involved in implementing Collaborative Service activities.
