Medan – The Institute for Community Service (LPPM) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) conducted a work visit to LPPM Universitas Andalas (UNAND) in Padang from December 12 to 14, 2022.
This work visit aimed to discuss and hold preliminary discussions regarding LPPM USU's plan to implement the National Collaborative Community Service Program in 2023.
In 2023, LPPM USU plans to expand its Community Service activities beyond the Province of North Sumatra, the home province of Universitas Sumatera Utara, to a national level. To execute this broader program, USU requires collaboration with partners.
In this initial stage, the work visit was conducted with LPPM UNAND as a potential National Collaborative Community Service Program partner. Similar visits to other universities' LPPMs are planned for early 2023.
The LPPM USU team was warmly welcomed during the visit by Dr. Friardi Ismet, S.Farm, Secretary of LPPM UNAND, and his team. In his remarks, Dr. Friardi expressed his openness to the purpose of the visit. The meeting concluded with the attendance of the Head of LPPM UNAND, Dr.-Ing. Uyung Gatot S. Dinata, MT.
Prof. Tulus, Vor.Dipl.Math., M.Si., Ph.D, Head of LPPM USU, elaborated on the purpose of the visit, which was to initiate discussions on preparations for the National Collaborative Community Service Program and to present a draft cooperation agreement for mutual approval.
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to conduct the National Collaborative Community Service Program in 2023, with a formal cooperation agreement to be signed. LPPM USU, as the lead institution, will provide the program's implementation guidelines.
