Deli Serdang, Journalisnews.com -Efforts to empower female students in Paluh Sibaji Village, Pantai Labu are increasingly being enhanced with the launch of the "Little Nurse" program which aims to support the Clean and Healthy Living Program (PHBS) in the community.
This program involves a number of female students from SDN 104255 Paluh Sibaji Village to be directly involved in health and sanitation activities in their village.
This community service activity was carried out by the Community Service Team of the University of North Sumatra, namely Dr. Fatwa Imelda, S.Kep, Ns, M.Biomed, M.Kep, Prof. Heru Santosa, MS, PhD and Dr. Farida Linda Sari Siregar, S.Kep, Ns, M.Kep in collaboration with the Village Head and SDN 104255 Paluh Baji Village.
This community service conducted intensive training on 8 PHBS practices, such as proper hand washing, use of masks, as well as prevention of infectious diseases and the formation of little care.
According to the Head of Paluh Village Sibaji Nasri, empowering female students as ‘Little Nurses’ is an effective strategy to strengthen PHBS knowledge and practices in the community.
“Children have a significant role in spreading health messages and can be agents of change in their environment,” said the Head of Paluh Village Sibaji.
The female students involved in this program will undergo training that includes theory and field practice.
They will be equipped with basic health knowledge, communication skills, and ways to disseminate health information to their families and friends.
The program also provides various tools, such as posters and brochures, that can be used by the students in outreach activities in the village.
This initiative has received a positive response from the local community.
“We strongly support this program because in addition to providing health knowledge to children, it also helps increase public awareness of the importance of PHBS,” said the Head of Paluh Village Sibaji Pantai Labu Nasri.
Through this step, it is hoped that the village of Paluh Sibaji Pantai Labu can achieve a better level of health and reduce the prevalence of infectious diseases. In addition, this program is expected to be a model that can be applied in other villages in the Regency area.
