The Community Service/Service Institute (LPPM) and Collaboration of Lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Public Health, University of North Sumatra (FKM USU) carried out Community Service activities, by providing counseling in the form of education on managing a healthy lifestyle, to avoid non-infectious diseases and complications of serious diseases, in Bulu Cina Village, Hamparan Perak, Deliserdang, Saturday (3/8/2024).
This community service activity was chaired by Dr. dr. Rusdiana Mkes, along with three other team members, namely Dr. dr. Sri Suryani Widjaja MKes, Dr. dr. Maya Savira MKes and Dr. Rusmalawaty MKes, who are FK lecturers from the Department of Biochemistry and the Department of Physiology as well as lecturers from FKM USU.
Meanwhile, this activity could not be separated from the assistance of the Village Head, Ramiyadi, Village Secretary, Edi Husin, and Rusmanto and Tri Juliana as cadres in Bulu Cina Village, Hamparan Perak, Deliserdang. In addition, the PMI Deliserdang also jointly held the activity.
"As a form of community service, USU through the Community Service Institute (LPM) along with USU FK and FKM Lecturers educate the community, by providing counseling on managing a healthy lifestyle to avoid non-infectious diseases and complications of serious diseases in the village," said Dr. dr. Rusdiana.
The activities carried out, he continued, in addition to education, his party also conducted simple laboratory examinations, such as Blood Sugar Level (KGD), cholesterol and uric acid examinations, which are related to non-infectious diseases such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension.
"The activity was carried out so that the community is 'aware' of checking their health regularly to avoid various complications of serious diseases, thus creating a physically and mentally healthy society," concluded Dr. dr. Rusdiana.
