TO improve the capacity and competitiveness of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), lecturers from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of North Sumatra (FISIP USU) provide training and guidance to business actors in the Menteng Small and Medium Industry Center (IKM PIK) area of Medan City.
Community service funded by the USU Community Service Institute (LPPM) was carried out at the Denai IKM Center Service UPT Building, Medan City Cooperatives, SMEs, Industry and Trade Service on July 24, 2024.
The service team was chaired by Onan M Siregar MSi with members Ainun Mardhiyah MAB assisted by several undergraduate business administration students.
The service activity was opened by the Head of the Medan City Cooperatives, SMEs, Industry and Trade Service represented by the Secretary of the Medan City Cooperatives, SMEs, Industry and Trade Service Erwin Saleh SSTP MAP accompanied by the Head of the Denai IKM Center Service UPT Fitriana Harahap SE MM.
The secretary of the service welcomed the service activities carried out by the USU community service team. He said that the training activities in the form of community service provided enormous benefits for training participants.
Erwin Saleh SSTP MAP will also continue to support community service activities provided to business actors in the Denai IKM center area so that market share can increase faster and have better competitiveness at the Medan City level and even at the national level.
Community service activities, said Onan M Siregar MSi,
started from socialization activities to MSME business actors regarding the importance of digitalization in business activities, carrying out demonstrations and practices.
Community service activities by USU lecturers are expected to increase the capacity, competitiveness and ability of business actors in running their businesses through digitalization.
