Political Science Study Program, FISIP USU Community Service at the Aisyah Rangkuti Foundation

MEDAN, The Political Science Study Program (Prodi) of the USU FISIP held a mandatory activity from the University of North Sumatra which is routinely carried out every year, namely Community Service.

The requirements for implementing the activity that have been approved by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and the USU Community Service Institute (LPPM) were carried out by the Political Science Study Program at the Aisyah Rangkuti Foundation of the Baiti Jannati School in Tanjung Morawa, Deliserdang Regency, Tuesday (9/7).

Currently, the Baiti Jannati School has three elementary and secondary education units, namely TK, SD, and SMP Islam Terpadu using the National Full Day Islamic School concept.

Meanwhile, for Community Service this time, the educational unit that is the focus of the political science study program is the SMP unit.

This activity is carried out in line with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely education, research, and service.

The head of the activity, Adil Arifin, MA who is also the Secretary of the Political Science Study Program, FISIP USU, was accompanied by political science teaching staff and speakers who are also part of the political science lecturers, this activity was also attended by political science students.

When opening the activity, he stated that with a visit like this, he hoped that it could bring and improve the quality of the Political Science Study Program, FISIP USU.

He also conveyed the outputs and benefits that partners would get from this community service activity, such as published journals and learning modules, especially subjects related to national and state education.

"This activity is expected to be able to provide a good impact, especially for the education sector, which will later be supported by a series of activities until December 2024," said Adil Arifin, MA.

He continued, the theme of this community service activity was National and State Education Training for Educators of Integrated Islamic Junior High Schools, Baiti Jannati Tanjung Morawa College. Thus, upon arrival at the location of the Baiti Jannati College, this activity was also attended by educators and education personnel from the Foundation - College.

It was explained that this event was the first visit carried out for approximately four visits until the end of 2024.

The Chairperson of the Aisyah Rangkuti Foundation, Ira Rizka Aisyah Lubis, S.Sos., M.Si and the Advisor of the Aisyah Rangkuti Foundation, Umardin Lubis, SE welcomed this activity and it is hoped that this program can be a new step in friendship with USU and similar activities will not stop being carried out in the Baiti Jannati College environment.

"We welcome you and thank you for visiting and sharing knowledge with educators and education personnel at the Baiti Jannati College," said the Principal of SMP IT Perguruan Baiti Jannati, Nukman Anggi Harahap, S.Pd.

The activity was also filled with speakers who are also lecturers in the Political Science Study Program, FISIP USU, Fredick Broven Ekayanta, S.IP., M.IP who explained and provided perspectives on the importance of providing national and state education to students from an early age and is a concern for every educator who will teach this education later to students.

Furthermore, the event was closed with the handover of laptops as one of the assistance from the University of North Sumatra for the Aisyah Rangkuti Foundation.
