USU and Unand National Collaborative Service Creates Diabetic's Foot Lotion that Begins to be Introduced to the Community

Padang - Lecturers of the USU Faculty of Pharmacy together with lecturers of the Andalas University Faculty of Pharmacy carried out community service, in the form of counseling on making diabetic's foot lotion as well as marketing and business plans. The service was carried out at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Andalas University, Padang, Friday (12/07).
Chief Executive Embun Suci Nasution, S.Si., M.Farm.Klin., Apt said that the purpose of the service was to increase community knowledge and skills and empower natural potential. Namely, gambir leaves become an innovative product that is efficacious and of high value, in the form of diabetic's foot lotion.
In addition, in order to increase the income of the local community. Community service for USU Talenta, a national collaboration scheme in 2024, is to increase cooperation between universities. In this case, it is in the form of community service and supporting USU's own work program, related to lecturers involved in community service.
On this occasion, he continued, there was also a direct practice of making diabetic's foot lotion, the material of which was presented by Uswatun Hasanah S.Farm., M.Si., Apt, a lecturer at the Unand Pharmacy Department. "Hopefully the knowledge and skills provided are useful and can be passed on to the participants to their families and the community," he hoped.
Embun also added that in the service, education was also provided on branding the profession of pharmacists, education related to diabetes mellitus and its prevention, as well as marketing and business plan materials presented by Adika Fajar Putra, S.E.I., M.M, a lecturer at the USU Faculty of Economics and Business.
In the activity, the committee provided handouts and brochures for participants to read. Then given to families to read at home. To attract the attention of participants, the committee also held door prizes and gave souvenirs.
Also giving a speech was the Head of Limau Manis Village, Padang, Muliardi, S.Sos., M.M. In the service, he was also assisted by students of the Pharmacy Education Study Program, Faculty of Pharmacy, USU, namely Murobbi, S.Farm and five USU Pharmacy S1 students, namely, Chicha Maylona Aganisa, Muhammad Khairul Fikri, Surya Perdana Gultom, Zarina Charunnisa, Feby Aisha A. Harahap and two Unand Pharmacy S1 students, namely Amanda Zulfika Putri and Dhiandra Arya Wardhana.
