Medan - Participants in community service activities at SMP Negeri 1 Naman Teran, Kutarayat Village, Naman Teran District, Karo Regency, North Sumatra Province (Sumut) looked enthusiastic and excited in participating in the Community Empowerment Through Digitalization of Trauma Healing (Dimah) activities in Disaster Risk Areas held by the Community Service Institute of the University of North Sumatra (USU).
Dimah (Digitization of Trauma Healing) is a comprehensive and user-friendly application, designed to help users in the process of recovering from psychological trauma. This application offers various tools and resources that can help users manage stress, anxiety, and negative emotions associated with trauma, especially trauma experienced by users due to disasters.
The Head of the Dimah application team, Dhani Syahputra Bukit, SKM., MKM., said that the team involved in the preparation and creation of this application consisted of Pauzi Ibrahim Nainggolan, S.Komp., M.Sc., Lanova Dwi Arde, SKM., MKM and Ismil Khairi Lubis, SKM., MPH. The creation of this innovative application is expected to help disaster-affected communities in the trauma recovery process effectively and easily accessible.
"This dimah application provides information and resources needed by the community in the trauma healing process, both for consultations and making prescriptions that can be done anytime online," said Dhani in his statement, Thursday (08/22/2024).
Meanwhile, in his remarks, Olgi Gerieska, M.Pd as a representative of SMP Negeri 1 Naman Teran said that this activity was very beneficial for community service participants
"Because basically we need an understanding of how to deal with trauma due to disasters, especially since we live in a disaster-risk area. With this application, it is hoped that it can help us with this," he concluded.
