Deli Serdang, The University of North Sumatra (USU) community service team conducted an early detection activity for non-communicable diseases with smart behavior in the village of Paluh Sibaji Pantai Labu, August 13, 2024.
This activity aims to increase public awareness regarding early detection of non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, cholesterol, gout and diabetes mellitus.
In this community service activity, the community is given knowledge on how to monitor their health independently, as well as identify risk factors for diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol and gout.
A practical explanation of a healthy lifestyle and an understanding of routine health checks are also provided to help the community in disease prevention efforts. In addition, early detection is carried out by providing facilities for early detection of NCD risk factors.
The Head of Paluh Sibaji Pantai Labu Village, Mr. Nasri, welcomed this activity and hoped that the community could apply the knowledge gained in their daily lives.
“We greatly appreciate the efforts of the USU community service team chaired by Prof. Drs. Heru Santosa, MS, PhD and consisting of Dr. Fatwa Imelda, S.Kep, Ns. M.Biomed, M.Kep and Evi Indriani Br Karo, SST, M.Kep who have detected non-communicable diseases early. Hopefully this will be the first step towards a healthier society and be aware of the importance of health," he said.
This activity is expected to provide a sustainable positive impact in improving public health in the village.
