BINJAI, In an effort to provide clean water at the Pesantren Sahabat Quran, Jalan DR Wahidin, Jati Makmur, Binjai Utara District, Binjai City, lecturers from the USU Vocational Faculty provided assistance in the form of a set of 2000 GPD RO filter machines.
The handover of this assistance was in the context of community service (PKM) carried out by a team led by Lukman Hakim, S.Si, M.Si with members Agung Pratama, S.Si, M.Si from July to September 2024. In this activity, the two lecturers were assisted by three students, namely Muhammad Yusuf from the D3 Meteorology and Instrumentation Study Program, Tiara Bela from the S1 Physics Study Program, and Humam Rafi from the S1 Physics Study Program.
"In addition to a set of 2000 GPD RO Filter machines, we also provide two macro filter tubes, four micro filter tubes, one water tank unit with a capacity of 1,500 liters and one water tank unit with a capacity of 2000 liters," said the Head of the Community Service Team, Lukman Hakim, S.Si, M.Si.
According to him, in addition to providing a set of RO filter machines, they also provide education on how to install, operate and maintain the machine, "We hope this machine can provide extensive benefits for the students at the Sahabat Quran Islamic Boarding School," Lukman hoped.
This set of RO Filter machines was received directly by Ustad Irvantra Padang as the Mudir at the Sahabat Quran Islamic Boarding School, Binjai. Irvanta expressed his gratitude to the USU community service team who had provided assistance in the form of a set of RO Filter machines or water purifiers.
The availability of clean water is one of the classic problems here. "Hopefully with this assistance, the water of which we have drunk together, both by the USU PKM Team and the students, we can be more enthusiastic in pursuing knowledge," he said.
