Medan, On Monday, lecturers of the Business Administration Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of North Sumatra (FISIP-USU) held a community service program at an orphanage called Panti Asuhan Ar-Rahman located on Jl. STM, Medan Amplas District, Medan City, North Sumatra.
This activity is aimed at children to teenagers who are still in school, in the form of training and mentoring in making flowers from flannel.
This community service program carries the title "Entrepreneurship Education in Building Financial Independence Through Handy Craft Training in the Orphanage Children's Community" which is chaired by Ainun Mardhiyah, S.AB, M.AB who is a lecturer from the Business Administration Study Program, FISIP USU, this service consists of Onan Marakali Siregar, S.Sos., M.Si. who is also a lecturer from the Business Administration Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.
This activity also invited a positive response and was enthusiastically followed by several students of the Business Administration Study Program, namely Rizqa Nabilah Rangkuti, Larose Nikita Zienri, and Aurellia Putri.
This community service program has the main objective of increasing financial awareness in children and adolescents by also generating income. One of them is by producing and selling handicrafts or handicrafts through the use of flannel in various colors with techniques that are easy for children to do. The team also prepared milestones or achievement plans that will be carried out in the future, namely introducing technology in the form of online buying and selling applications to market the products produced.
The team hopes that this program can help children and adolescents to increase financial awareness by producing high-value products and having a source of personal income as a provision for savings in the future.
