MEDAN. Lecturers of the Faculty of Forestry, University of North Sumatra (USU) chaired by Hafizah Arinah S.Hut., M.Sc and members Nur Afifah, S.AP., M.PA and USU students carried out Community Service (PKM) activities under the Environmental Benefits program in Pabatu Village, Padang Hulu District, Tebing Tinggi City, North Sumatra Province, Friday, August 5, 2024.
Mapping of villages using drones and improving community welfare through Agrosilvopasrtoral in Pabatu Village, Padang Hulu District, Tebing Tinggi City, North Sumatra Province.
This service took the theme of Utilization of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) for mapping village administration centers and training in making animal feed (silage) to improve community skills in Pabatu Village, Padang Hulu, North Sumatra.
At the beginning of the activity, the USU Community Service Team socialized the use of drones in village mapping. Then continued with the presentation of material on making silage animal feed by utilizing corn plant leaves.
In her presentation, Hafizah Arinah S.Hut., M.Sc explained the purpose of this Community Service, namely mapping the village administration center with drones and training fathers/mothers by adding skills through the use of corn leaves or corn grass for making animal feed.
The Head of Pabatu, Khairuddin, S.H in his speech was very grateful for being appointed as one of the partners of the USU Community Service/Service Institute (LPPM).
After the simulation of making animal feed (silage) and the submission of the Pabatu Village drone map and several tools and materials for making animal feed (silage).
"The USU Faculty of Forestry Community Service Team hopes that the training on making animal feed and drone maps provided can be useful and can improve animal feed making skills in Pabatu Village," concluded Hafizah Arinah S.Hut., M.Sc
