Deliserdang - The Community Service Institute (LPPM) of the University of North Sumatra has carried out various activities to increase the commercialization of women's entrepreneurial products in Denai Sarang Burung Village, Pantai Labu District, Deli Serdang Regency. The women entrepreneurs in Denai Sarang Burung Village are very enthusiastic in participating in all activities carried out in an effort to commercialize local products towards developing the village into a Cultural Tourism Village. This activity involves active participation from village officials and local communities, Monday (12/8).
This Community Service Activity is a service with an Economic and Social Theme scheme chaired by Prof. Dr. Arlina Nurbaity Lubis, SE., MBA who is a Professor in the field of digital marketing with members namely Prof. Dr. Prihatin Lumbanraja, SE., M.Si and Taufik Akbar Parluhutan, SE., M.Si as well as several students involved in the process of this community service activity.
The activities carried out include data collection on women entrepreneurs in Denai Sarang Burung Village, as an initial step to understand the potential and challenges faced by local entrepreneurs. This data will be the basis for formulating future business development strategies.
In addition, an evaluation of the brand stickers given in 2023 was also carried out to ensure that the product branding that had been implemented was in accordance with expectations and could be accepted by the market. "We want to ensure that each product has a strong identity and is able to attract the attention of consumers, both local and tourists," said Prof. Arlina Nurbaity Lubis as the head of the community service.
This activity was also filled with a knowledge transfer session, where entrepreneurs were given motivation to develop business products and knowledge about digital marketing. Participants were taught effective ways to market their products online, including direct practice in creating a business Instagram account.
"It is important for us to support these female entrepreneurs in developing their digital skills, because this is the key to opening up a wider market," said Mr. Taufik Akbar as the resource person for the activity.
In addition to practicing creating a business Instagram account, entrepreneurs were also given new brand stickers and product packaging. This is expected to provide a new face for their products, so that they are more attractive in the eyes of consumers.
Katimin, SE as the Head of Denai Sarang Burung Village, warmly welcomed this community service activity. "This initiative is very important for the economic development of our village. With various trainings and evaluations carried out, we are optimistic that our local products will be increasingly known and in demand by people outside our village," he said.
With this series of activities, Denai Sarang Burung Village is increasingly ready to become a cultural tourism destination that not only offers natural beauty and cultural richness, but also quality and competitive local products. The event was closed with the symbolic handover of brand stickers and product packaging by the community service team to representatives of female entrepreneurs in Denai Sarang Burung Village.
