The RKI and PMKI activities were attended directly by the heads of LPPM or DRPM from various universities.
The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) is collaborating with 24 State Universities with Legal Entities (PTN-BH) across Indonesia to strengthen research and community service. This synergy is realized through the monitoring and evaluation of the Indonesian Collaborative Research Progress Report (RKI) and the Indonesian Collaborative Community Service Report (PMKI).
The event was attended in person by the heads of the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) and Institute of Research and Community Service (DRPM) from various universities. The Head of LPPM UM, Prof. Dr. Markus Diantoro, M.Sc., emphasized the importance of synergy to create a broader impact. "This meeting is not just a formality, but full of hope and energy to bring Indonesian PTN-BH to the forefront," he said optimistically. Prof. Markus stated that research collaboration will produce more innovation. "Research and community service output will be greater when worked on together. The more proposals submitted, the greater the impact." The Head of the RKI and PMKI Association, Prof. Dr. R Benny Riyanto, S.H., M.Hum., CN., emphasized that collaborative research is a strategic path for universities to achieve international reputation.
"Through this program, two points of the Tri Dharma of higher education, namely research and community service, can be achieved simultaneously," he said. UM Rector, Prof. Dr. Hariyono, M.Pd., highlighted the need to expand collaboration beyond state universities with legal status. "If we also collaborate with non-state universities with legal status, the private sector, and community groups, the impact will be much greater," he said. However, Prof. Hariyono also highlighted the bureaucratic obstacles that often slow down research execution. "We will discuss with the rectors of state universities with legal status and ministries to simplify bureaucracy so that researchers can immediately execute their ideas without having to wait too long," he explained. At the end of his remarks, he urged the leaders of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) and the Institute for Research and Community Service (DRPM) to strengthen the citation culture of domestic scientific papers. "It's unfortunate that much of our research has been published but still has low citations," he stressed. This synergy is expected to accelerate innovation and strengthen Indonesia's position in the global research arena, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in education and innovation.
